Ashby's Late Night Shopping and Christmas Light Switch-On returns on Thursday 19 November 2026, from 5pm on Market Street. Shops and cafés across town stay open late, there is festive food and drink, and the town's Christmas lights are switched on in the evening. The event is free and organised by Ashby BID and Love Ashby.
What time does Late Night Shopping start?
The fun starts at 5pm on Thursday 19 November. Last year, shops stayed open until 8.30pm and the lights were switched on at 7.30pm.
What can I expect on the night?
It is one of the most magical nights of the year in Ashby. Here's what to look forward to:

How did last year's switch-on go?
2025 was Ashby's first coordinated Christmas light switch-on, and the turnout exceeded expectations.

Which Christmas lights does Ashby BID provide?
Ashby BID adds to the Christmas lights provided by Ashby Town Council. Last year the BID funded:
- 50 pre-lit Christmas trees around town
- Three cross-street decorations
- Net lighting in Mill Lane Mews
- A 15ft Christmas tree on North Street
