Ashby Easter Event 2026: Window Trail, Crafts and Family Fun

Admin AshbyBID • April 3, 2026

Ashby's Easter Event 2026 ran from Monday 30 March to Sunday 12 April, across the Easter school holidays.

What happened at the Ashby Easter Event 2026?

The Easter Event was designed to be easy to dip in and out of, with no tickets or planning needed. There were four parts:

  1. Easter digital trail: a self-guided trail around the town centre on the free Visit Ashby app
  2. Handprint painting competition: created with local primary schools, with artwork displayed in The Tourist Information Centre
  3. Easter crafts at Ashby Library: on Saturday 28 March, 11am to 1pm, children made an Easter bunny or chick with a sweet surprise inside
  4. Easter offer: Ashby jute bags at half price (£6.50, down from £12.99) at the Tourist Information Centre from 28 March to 11 April

How did the Easter digital trail work?

Families downloaded the free Visit Ashby app from Google Play or the Apple App Store. The app guided them around the town, with clues to find along the way.

The trail could be done at any time during the holidays, making it a perfect half-term activity for a morning or afternoon in town.

What was on at the Easter crafts session?

The free Easter crafts session took place at Ashby Library and Tourist Information Centre on North Street (LE65 1HU). Children made their own Easter bunny or Easter chick with a sweet surprise inside.

Everyone who came along could enter a prize draw to win an Easter chocolate hamper.

Why does Ashby BID run an Easter event?

The Easter holidays are a great chance to bring families into the town centre. Activities like trails and window art encourage people to explore Market Street and the surrounding streets, and to stop for a coffee or lunch while they are here.

The Easter event is one of many activities Ashby BID delivers on behalf of local businesses, alongside the Soapbox Derby, the Christmas Market and Late Night Shopping.
